The Geolog System
 

 

A single antenna installation can provide all the necessary outputs associated with the SMIDS.

Accurate Speed Over Ground (SOG) can be achieved. The vessel's athwartship velocities are also produced but at the sensor datum. Vessel speed and direction can also be translated. GPS, GPS/GLONASS and differential GPS signals can also be processed to give an effective multifunctional navigational aid, which can be easily upgraded into a SMIDS. Dual axis speed over ground information is now a requirement for vessels over 50000 gross tonnes weight.
